Penn College women's volleyball team faced defeats against Lancaster Bible and Arcadia in a tri-match held on Saturday, October 7, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats' United East Conference record now stands at 0-2, with an overall record of 4-11. Meanwhile, the Chargers improved their standing to 2-0 in the conference and 10-6 overall. Arcadia's Knights hold an overall record of 4-13.
In the match against Lancaster Bible, the Chargers secured victory with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, and 25-13 during the United East Conference showdown. The Chargers achieved a hitting percentage of .404 with a total of 50 kills while limiting the Wildcats to a .065 hitting percentage and only 12 kills.
In non-conference play against Arcadia, the Knights won with set scores of 25-6, 25-18, and 25-18.
Coryn Oswald and Hailey DeBrody both recorded a team-high of ten digs in the match against Lancaster Bible. DeBrody also contributed five kills for her team. Cheyenne Stein led in assists (7), aces (3), and blocks (1). In their second match against Arcadia, Marianna Dariychuk topped her team with four kills and ten digs while Stein added eight assists.
The Wildcats will have a week-long break before returning to action in another United East Conference matchup at Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday, October 14 at 2 p.m.
