Penn College Wrestling has secured the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team Academic Peak Performance award for the second year in a row. The accolade highlights the team with the highest collective cumulative GPA in each sport. In an announcement by the league office, it was also shared that 25 Wildcat athletes made it to the AMCC Academic All-Conference Team. These students maintained a GPA of 3.2 or above for the Fall 2024 semester, with 13 attaining individual peak performer accolades for maintaining over a 3.5 GPA.
The Penn College Wrestling team achieved a 3.21 team GPA. Among those recognized were seniors Anton Esterbrook, Noah Hunt, and CJ Trimber; juniors Zach Miller and Brett Patton; sophomores Jonathan Altamirano Bautista, Daniel Clark, Travis Green, Luke Heimbach, Cavin Napoletano, Ayden Sprague, Marcus Tapper, Ryan Trimber, and Nick Woodruff; and freshmen Justin Adams, Brock Beach, Carter Davis, Blake Dergham, Ryan Fitzsimmons, Josh Howard, Isaac McGregor, Santino Micci, Aiden Osborne, Cole Shupp, and Bryan Tilney.
"As a team, we strive to continually grow and get one-percent better each day. That includes both on the mat and in the classroom," First-year Head Coach Dalton Rohrbaugh said. "After a successful year on the mat, I am proud to see the work ethic being applied in the classroom, as well. Our wrestlers continue to hold themselves to high academic standards."
On the wrestling mat, the Wildcats completed their season with an undefeated 4-0 record in AMCC dual meets and a 7-2 overall performance. They clinched eight out of ten individual titles at the AMCC Championships, capturing their first conference tournament title with a record 191.0 team points.
