WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — At the 90th Wilkes University Open on Friday, TJ Martin of Penn College emerged as a notable performer by finishing sixth in the 149-pound category. Martin's journey through the consolation bracket was marked by resilience as he overcame deficits against Jordan Brown from Binghamton and Chase Burke from Lock Haven. His performance included victories over Sebastian Nini of Rutgers and resulted in a 5-1 record with four pins, three of which occurred in the first period.
Other Penn College wrestlers also had commendable performances:
Kaden Ware (133) achieved a 3-2 record, including a victory over Major Lewis from NCAA Division I Bloomsburg.
Travis Green (165) also went 3-2, securing wins against D-I opponents Damian Weaver of Rutgers and Nolen Ziegler of Bloomsburg.
