Penn College wrestling achieves two wins at Dr. Si Ostrach Duals

Penn College wrestling team participated in the Dr. Si Ostrach Duals, securing two victories and one loss. Their performance brought their dual record to 8-5 for the season.

The Wildcats achieved wins against Hiram College with a score of 59-0 and Waynesburg University at 32-18. However, they faced a defeat in their opening dual against Albion with a score of 32-12. The matches against Albion and Hiram marked the first encounters between these teams, while Penn College holds a historical advantage over Waynesburg with a 2-0 all-time record.

Three wrestlers from Penn College went undefeated throughout the day. Noah Hunt competed at 141 pounds, achieving three falls including an impressive comeback against Austin Matheney of Albion. Travis Green had varied successes including a decision, technical fall, and major decision. Kaden Ware finished his day at 133 pounds with one decision and two forfeits.

Luke Heimbach competing at 125 pounds and Nicholai Brotzman at 285 pounds both completed the day with records of two wins and one loss.

In additional matches, Zach Miller stood out by finishing undefeated with two pins at 157 pounds.

Looking ahead, Penn College is set to compete in the John Reese Duals at Wilkes University on Sunday, January 28th.
