Dalton Rohrbaugh named head coach for Penn College wrestling

Penn College has appointed Dalton Rohrbaugh as the new head coach of its wrestling program. Rohrbaugh will assume his duties starting September 24.

Rohrbaugh's most recent role was with Shenandoah University, where he spent one season on the wrestling coaching staff. His responsibilities there included organizing and implementing practices, scouting and recruiting prospective student-athletes, and managing various aspects of the team's operations.

"We are very excited to welcome Coach Rohrbaugh to Penn College," said Director of Athletics Scott Kennell. "He comes to us from Shenandoah where he helped develop its program and played an instrumental role in recruitment and talent development. Coach Rohrbaugh will play an important role in continuing to elevate our wrestling program within the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and the national level."

Prior to his tenure at Shenandoah, Rohrbaugh served as an assistant coach at Mayfield Mat Academy from 2020 to 2023. His duties included creating and executing practice plans, clinics, and special events. Additionally, in 2023, he worked as an athletic department intern at Spring Grove Area High School, handling marketing events, creating game day graphics, and assisting with budgeting efforts.

As a collegiate wrestler, Rohrbaugh contributed to Lock Haven University's success in winning two Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) and PSAC championships in 2018 and 2019. He also achieved recognition as a two-time NCAA Division III All-American at York College of Pennsylvania. In 2023, he concluded his collegiate career as the NCAA Division III Runner-up with a career record of 75-22, including a 52-4 mark in Division III competition.

"I am very excited to get to work with a great group of coaches and wrestlers at Penn College," said Rohrbaugh. "I have no doubt we will have continued success both on the mats and in the classroom. I want to thank AD Scott Kennell, Assistant AD Matt Blymier and the rest of the hiring committee for trusting me with the opportunity to lead the program."
