Penn College excels at AMCC wrestling championships

Penn College's wrestling team emerged victorious in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships, marking a significant achievement in just their second season. The team dominated the event, securing 191 points and outperforming four other teams.

Travis Green, a sophomore competing in the 174-pound category, was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. Green completed the day with three victories: one by fall, another by technical fall, and an 8-1 decision in the final match.

Individual titles were claimed by Justin Adams (125 pounds), Kaden Ware (133 pounds), Noah Hunt (141 pounds), TJ Martin (149 pounds), Carter Davis (165 pounds), Travis Green (174 pounds), Isaac Cory (184 pounds), and Nicholai Brotzman (285 pounds).

In a close 125-pound final, Justin Adams overcame a deficit to win against Zach Dellinger from Penn State Behrend with a last-second takedown. Kaden Ware secured victory over Elijah Mosheneck of Alfred State in the 133-pound final. Noah Hunt won his match against Cole Neil from Penn State Behrend with a third-period fall.

Carter Davis achieved an 11-1 major decision victory at 165-pounds. Travis Green defeated DJ Slovick from Pitt-Bradford with an 8-1 decision, while Isaac Cory overcame Brent Perry from Alfred State in his category.

The results of the championship saw Penn College leading with 191 points, followed by Penn State Behrend with 127 points, Alfred State College with 105.5 points, Pitt-Bradford with 45 points, and Penn State Altoona trailing at 7.5 points.

Next on the schedule for Penn College is participation in the Mideast Futures Tournament hosted by The College of New Jersey in Ewing.
