Penn College wrestlers achieve top spots at Rodarmel Invitational

Penn College demonstrated strong performance at the Rennie Rodarmel Allstate Invitational held at Lycoming College, Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The event took place on Sunday, where 11 wrestlers from Penn College reached the podium, with three securing individual championships.

In the team competition, Penn College finished in second place behind Lycoming College among eight participating teams.

Noah Hunt excelled in his matches, achieving a 4-0 record at 141 pounds. Gavin Gomes and Isaac Cory also delivered outstanding performances, both finishing with a 3-0 record at 157 and 184 pounds respectively. Notably, Cory's final match resulted in a narrow 4-3 victory over Eli Crum of Lycoming College, who is ranked third in the region.

Other notable placements for Penn College included Bryan Tilney (2-1 at 141), David M'Balla (2-1 at 149), Brett Patton (2-1 at 157), and Josh Howard (3-1) at 165, all finishing third in their respective categories. Fourth-place finishes were earned by Gio DiBiagio (2-1 at 125) and Cole Shupp (1-2 at 174). Cavin Napoletano (2-2 at 157) and Ayden Sprague (3-2 at 165) placed sixth.

The overall team standings were as follows: Lycoming College scored 147.5 points to secure first place; Penn College followed with 114 points; Misericordia came in third with 107 points; Scranton secured fourth with 66 points; Keystone was fifth with 52.5 points; Pitt-Bradford scored sixth with 51.5 points; King's came seventh with an equal score of King's and Muhlenberg concluded the list with a score of Muhlenberg being eighth.

Penn College will next compete at the Messiah Open scheduled for Saturday morning.
