Penn College wrestling senior Noah Hunt has been recognized as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Wrestler of the Week for the week ending February 2. This marks the second time Hunt has received this weekly award and the fifth time a Wildcat wrestler has been honored this season.
Hunt achieved a 5-0 record, including four first-period falls and a technical fall, in his first competition back from injury at 141 pounds. On Saturday, during Senior Night, he pinned Keystone's Justin Santiago in just 1:28. He continued with an undefeated day and secured an individual title at Lycoming College's Rennie Rodarmel Invite. During this event, Hunt pinned Misericordia's Brady Quinn in 2:09, King's Jacob Torres in 1:49, and Lycoming's Quinton Bartlett in 2:01. In the finals bout, he defeated Misericordia's Kruz McKusker via a 17-2 technical fall within seven minutes.
Hunt's performance improved his season record to 11-5. He is now only five wins away from becoming Penn College's first wrestler to achieve 100 career match victories.
