Penn College wrestling remains undefeated in AMCC Duals

Penn College's wrestling team achieved a 3-0 record on Saturday during the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Duals, hosted by Pitt-Bradford. The Wildcats secured victories against Alfred State with a score of 30-17, defeated Pitt-Bradford 37-15, and overcame Penn State Behrend 29-13. This performance improved their overall duals record to 4-0.

Three wrestlers from Penn College remained unbeaten throughout the event. Carter Davis (165 pounds), Nicholas Woodruff (197 pounds), and Nicholai Brotzman (285 pounds) each concluded the day with perfect 3-0 records.

In the match against Alfred State, Penn College recorded three falls and two technical falls. Travis Green at 174 pounds, TJ Martin at 149 pounds, and Brotzman all won by fall. Woodruff and Davis achieved technical falls. Despite Brotzman's quick victory in just 1:10, an unsportsmanlike conduct call cost the team one point. Justin Adams also contributed with a win by decision at 125 pounds.

Against Pitt-Bradford, the Wildcats claimed victory through three falls, two technical falls, one win by forfeit, and one decision. Brotzman, Woodruff (in just 58 seconds), and Isaac McGregor at 141 pounds scored falls. Davis and Blake Dergham at 133 pounds posted technical falls; Aiden Osborne won by forfeit at 184 pounds; Martin secured a win by decision.

Facing Penn State Behrend, Penn College earned two falls, two technical falls, a major decision, and a decision. Falls were achieved by Brotzman and Adams; Woodruff and Dergham had technical falls; Green won with a major decision; Davis earned a decision.

In other results from the event: Penn State Behrend finished the day with a record of 2-1 improving to an overall standing of 8-5; Pitt-Bradford went 1-1 moving to an overall record of 5-9; Alfred State ended up with a record of 1-2 dropping to an overall standing of 4-5; while Penn State Altoona was unable to secure any wins going down to an overall record of 0-6.

Next on their schedule is participation in the NY-PA Challenge taking place at New York University where they will compete against Hunter College at 6 p.m., NYU at 7:45 p.m., followed by Merchant Marine with time yet to be announced.
