Penn College's wrestling team secured a second-place finish at the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic, surpassing the host team by just one point. Carter Davis emerged as an individual champion in the 165-pound category, completing a flawless day with five victories, including three falls and a major decision in the finals.
Davis' success was part of a broader strong performance by Penn College wrestlers. Blake Dergham claimed third place at 133 pounds. Justin Adams, CJ Trimber, and Nicholas Woodruff each achieved fourth-place finishes in their respective weight classes. Isaac McGregor secured fifth place at 141 pounds. TJ Martin and Cavin Napoletano ended in sixth place at 149 and 157 pounds respectively. Gavin Gomes and Cole Shupp finished eighth at 157 and 174 pounds.
Penn College led the tournament with a total of 16 pins, highlighted by Martin's five pins during his run through the consolation bracket. The team narrowly trailed Wilkes University, which captured first place with 194 points.
The next competition for Penn College will be on December 20th at the Wilkes Open.
