Penn College's women's tennis team began their season with a victory against Susquehanna University, securing a 6-3 win on Wednesday. This result places the Wildcats at 1-0 for the season, while Susquehanna starts at 0-1.
The match saw Penn College winning two out of three doubles matches and four out of six singles matches. In the doubles category, Ellen Buckley and Lauren Peck achieved an 8-7 win in the No. 1 position. Faith Murray and Georgia Macensky also triumphed with an 8-3 score in the No. 2 spot.
In singles play, Lauren Peck won her match at No. 2 with scores of 6-2, 6-0. Faith Murray secured a victory at No. 3 with identical scores of 6-2, 6-2. Georgia Macensky overcame a first-set loss to win her match at No. 4 with scores of 3-6, 6-1, and 6-2. Jordan Specht marked her debut collegiate match by winning at No. 5 with scores of 6-4, 6-2.
Looking ahead, Penn College is scheduled to face Lycoming College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
