The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team is set to continue its Ivy League schedule with a series of away games in New England. The Quakers will face the league-leading Yale Bulldogs on Friday night, followed by a match against Brown Bears on Saturday.
Penn has five of its final seven games scheduled as road contests, starting with this weekend's doubleheader.
The game against Yale marks the 242nd meeting between the two teams, with Penn leading the historical series 153-88. However, Yale has won the last three encounters, including a recent 90-61 victory at The Palestra. Ethan Roberts led Penn in that game with 19 points.
On Saturday, Penn will play Brown for the 146th time, holding a lead in their historical meetings with a record of 114-31. Brown achieved a season sweep over Penn last year and secured an 88-79 win two weeks ago in Philadelphia. Roberts was again pivotal for Penn, scoring 29 points.
"Penn is on the road to face the Bulldogs and the Bears on the same weekend for the second straight year and the 67th time since the start of Ivy play in 1956-57," according to information from University sources.
Fans can follow both games through ESPN+ or listen via Quaker Audio Network (QAN). Matt Leon will provide play-by-play commentary with Mike Mahoney offering analysis.
Penn's current statistics highlight their performance this season. Notably, they have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.51 in Ivy League play and have made an average of ten three-point field goals per game during league matches. Ethan Roberts leads his team and ranks high among Ivy players with an average of three-point shots made per game entering this weekend.
"Three-point field goals made per game in Ivy play by junior Ethan Roberts entering the weekend, tops among Ivy League players," as noted by University sources.
Roberts also holds a streak of scoring double figures over thirteen consecutive games, averaging nearly twenty points per game during this run. His performance places him as one of the top scorers within Ivy League competition this season.
The Quakers are aiming to improve their standing as they approach these critical matchups against Yale and Brown while looking ahead to further road games before concluding their regular season schedule at Princeton.
