Penn College defeated King's College 15-4 in a nonconference baseball game on Wednesday evening in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This victory brought the Wildcats' record to 8-8 while the Monarchs fell to 5-13.
The Wildcats scored at least two runs in each of the first five innings, including a four-run fifth inning and an additional run in the sixth. The game began with Penn College scoring three runs in the first inning thanks to an RBI triple by Matt Munoz and a two-run single by Jaydon Goebel.
Although King's College took a brief lead with four runs at the top of the second inning, Penn College responded with two runs in their half of the inning. Ethan Stahl hit an RBI triple, scoring Brandon Shane, who later scored on a ground out by Munoz. In the third inning, Shane and Stahl extended Penn College's lead with an RBI single and a two-run double.
Jaydon Goebel had an outstanding performance for Penn College, going 4-for-4 at bat with four RBIs and three runs scored. Nathan Gustkey contributed three hits, including a triple, along with three runs scored and one RBI. Stahl, Munoz, and Levi Purnell each recorded two hits; both Stahl and Munoz achieved doubles and triples.
Looking ahead, Penn College will resume United East action on Saturday when they host a doubleheader against Penn State Berks starting at noon.
