Penn College's doubleheader losses halt a five-game winning streak

Penn College faced Mount Aloysius in a nonconference doubleheader on Monday, resulting in two losses for the Wildcats. In the first game, Penn College initially secured an 8-0 lead by scoring all its runs in the second inning. Contributions came from Brandon Shane, Jaiden Augustine, Dallas Griess, and others, with singles and an error pushing the lead. Shawn Townsend hit a double, bringing in two runs, while Matt Munoz added two more with a single to center field. However, Mount Aloysius responded by scoring three runs in the third inning, one in the fourth, seven in the fifth, and two in the sixth, ultimately winning the game 13-8. Levi Purnell and Jaydon Goebel each recorded three hits in the game.

In the second matchup, the Mounties took an early 4-0 lead. Kevin Cute managed to score for the Wildcats with an RBI single in the fourth, but MAC extended their lead further by scoring two additional runs in the fifth inning. The second game ended with a score of 6-1 in favor of Mount Aloysius.

The losses ended a five-game winning streak for Penn College, bringing their season record to 11-10. Penn College is scheduled to play next against Keystone College on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
