Penn men's basketball prepares for crucial Ivy League matches against Brown and Yale

The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team is set to host two important Ivy League games this weekend at The Palestra. They will face Brown on Friday at 7 p.m. and Yale on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Quakers, currently holding a 6-11 overall record and 2-2 in the Ivy League, will meet Brown, who stands at 9-8 overall and 1-3 in the league. On Saturday, they will challenge the league-leading Yale Bulldogs, who are unbeaten in conference play with an 11-6 record overall.

Fans can watch both games live on ESPN+ or listen through the Quaker Audio Network (QAN), where Matt Leon will provide play-by-play commentary alongside analyst Brad Fadem.

Penn has a longstanding history of hosting Brown and Yale on the same weekend. This tradition dates back to the beginning of Ivy League play in the 1956-57 season. Historically, Penn has swept this home weekend series against these teams 41 times.

In their series against Brown, Penn leads with a record of 114 wins to Brown's 30. However, last season saw Brown sweep Penn for the first time since 2015. Against Yale, Penn holds a lead of 153 wins to Yale's 87. Last year, Yale managed a season sweep over Penn.

This weekend is part of a four-game home stretch for Penn in Ivy League play. The Quakers recently defeated Columbia and are scheduled to face Princeton next Friday night.

Key players for Penn include junior Ethan Roberts, who has posted four double-doubles this season and currently holds an impressive scoring streak. Another standout performer is Sam Brown, who achieved a career-high score against Columbia last Saturday.
