The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team is set to begin a four-game homestand this Saturday against Columbia. The game will take place at 2 p.m. at The Palestra in Philadelphia.
This matchup marks the 244th meeting between Penn and Columbia, with the Quakers leading the series 149-94. Last season, each team won their respective home games, with Columbia taking an 84-81 victory in New York City and Penn securing an 84-72 win in Philadelphia. During last year's win at The Palestra, Clark Slajchert reached his 1,000th career point for Penn.
The upcoming game against Columbia is the first of four consecutive home games for the Quakers. Following Columbia, Penn will host Brown and Yale during a true Ivy League weekend and conclude the homestand with a Friday night game against Princeton on February 7.
Fans can watch all of Penn's home games on ESPN+ or listen via the Quaker Audio Network. Matt Leon will provide play-by-play commentary with analysis from Stan Pawlak.
Several players have been key contributors for Penn this season. Senior Nick Spinoso averages 6.9 rebounds per game, ranking fourth among Ivy League players in that category. Junior Ethan Roberts has maintained a double-figure scoring streak over ten games, averaging 19 points during this period and achieving five 20-point performances.
Sophomore Sam Brown delivered notable performances last weekend with a total of 34 points against Cornell and Harvard, while sophomore Niklas Polonowski has averaged eight points per game over the last six contests after limited scoring earlier in the season.
