Penn College sophomore Nick Woodruff has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Wrestler of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. This marks the second consecutive week a Wildcat wrestler has received this honor. Previous recipients include Nicholai Brotzman on January 13, Carter Davis on December 9, and Noah Hunt on November 4.
Woodruff extended his winning streak to six matches and maintained an undefeated dual record following a successful 3-0 weekend. Competing in the 197-pound category, he achieved two pins and a major decision against opponents from US Merchant Marine Academy, Hunter College, and New York University. His victories included a fall at 6:54 and another at 1:36 against competitors from Merchant Marine and Hunter College, respectively. He concluded with a 17-5 major decision over Mark Dickey of NYU.
Currently, Woodruff holds a season record of 15-4 with six pins, five technical falls, and one major decision.
