Penn College senior Tommy DeGeyter from Long Valley, N.J., has been named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Third Team. The announcement was made on Thursday.
This recognition marks DeGeyter's first scholar all-america award following his recent scholar all-region honors. He is the first from his program to receive this accolade since John Murray and Daniel Hibbs in 2015, who were honored with USCAA scholar all-america titles. Earlier this season, DeGeyter was also selected for the USC All-Region Team.
DeGeyter is a Residential Construction Technology and Management major maintaining a 3.46 GPA. This season, he became only the third Wildcat in program history to earn three or more all-conference selections. As team captain, he led the Wildcats in points (18), goals (6), and assists (6) for the second year running and was perfect in penalty kicks with a 3-for-3 record. His performance placed him tied for 15th in scoring and points within the United East Conference, while ranking sixth in assists. Throughout the season, DeGeyter took 28 shots with half being on target and contributed significantly to five shutouts by the Wildcats.
Concluding his career at Penn College, DeGeyter ranks third in program history for assists (7), fourth for goals scored (13), and fifth for points (33). He holds a program-best record of 9-9 in penalty kick opportunities.
