Penn College faced a narrow defeat against Penn State Abington in a United East men's soccer match at UPMC Field. The final score was 2-1, with the Wildcats' record now standing at 1-1-1 in the United East and 6-4-2 overall. Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions improved their record to 2-0 in the conference and 6-4-3 overall.

The match saw Matt Neeson break a scoreless tie in the 38th minute, scoring his second goal of the season to give Penn College a 1-0 lead. Clayton Gothel's attempt shortly after was saved, leaving the Wildcats ahead by one goal at halftime.

In the second half, Penn College managed two shots on target within the first 30 minutes, but both were saved. Abington equalized in the 79th minute and secured their victory with another goal five minutes later.

Both teams had an equal number of shots, totaling eleven each. However, Abington had six shots on frame compared to four from Penn College. The Nittany Lions also led in corner kicks with an 8-6 advantage.

Cole Catherman recorded four saves for Penn College during the match.

Penn College is set to play again on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., hosting St. Mary's.
