AURORA, N.Y. — The Penn College men's soccer team concluded their season with a decisive 4-1 victory against Wells College on Saturday in a United East match. This result brought the Wildcats to a conference record of 3-4-1 and an overall record of 5-10-3. Wells College ended their season without a win, finishing 0-8 in the conference and 0-15 overall.
The game saw no goals in the first half. However, Penn College took the lead early in the second half when Will Gallagher scored in the 50th minute. Wells quickly equalized five seconds later. The Wildcats responded with three more goals: Tad Shellenberger scored in the 63rd minute, Matt Neeson followed in the 66th minute, and Tyler Scheetz sealed the victory with a goal in the 79th minute, assisted by Brayden Gardner.
Statistically, Penn College dominated with 28 shots compared to Wells' seven, including a 16-5 advantage for shots on goal. They also led significantly in corner kicks, earning ten to Wells' one. Goalkeeper Braeden Eckard contributed four saves for Penn College.
