Penn College women's soccer team achieved a significant victory over Penn State Abington with a score of 6-2 in the United East competition on Tuesday, October 10. The standout performance came from Kaelynn Sheetz, who set a new program record for career points.
Sheetz played a crucial role in the game by assisting Sara Darlington's opening goal in the 14th minute, which allowed her to tie Hailee Hartman's previous record of 91 points. She then broke the record with her own goal in the 31st minute and continued to dominate by scoring three more consecutive goals at the 38th, 46th, and 60th minutes. This achievement brought her career total to an impressive 100 points.
The Wildcats' victory was further supported by Darlington, who scored again in the 84th minute with an assist from Teagan Willey. Other contributions included assists from Rylee Oliphant, Darlington herself, and Piper Minier. Goalkeeper Nicole Lichtinger made three saves to secure her sixth win of the season.
Penn College managed to take control of the match with a total of 31 shots, including 14 on target while limiting their opponents to just six shots.
Looking ahead, Penn College will continue their United East campaign on Saturday, October 14 when they face St. Mary's at home with a scheduled kickoff at 3:30 p.m.
