Penn College's men's cross-country team secured a sixth-place finish at the Misericordia University Invitational in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Competing against 11 other teams, they accumulated 154 points in their season opener on Friday.

Leading the Wildcats was Mitchell Campbell, who achieved an 18th-place finish among 120 participants with a time of 13:22. Close behind him was Matthew Woolcock, finishing 19th in 13:23. Other notable performances included Chase Ebeling at 30th place with a time of 13:51, Alec Rees at 35th in 14:06, and Holden Furey at 50th in 14:56.

Lebanon Valley College emerged victorious in the men's field with a total of 57 points. Their standout runner, Matthew Santana, completed the top individual performance with a time of 12:46 over the 4K course.

In contrast, Penn College's women's team did not qualify for team rankings due to having only four runners. Among them, Skyelar Splain finished in the highest position for her team at 78th place out of 113 competitors with a time of 19:28. Kayleigh Miller followed at 96th place in 22:10, Natalie Greiner at 107th in 25:30, and Isabella Telford at 110th in 27:34.

Misericordia University led the women's field with a score of just 27 points. The individual race was dominated by Lebanon Valley's Lauren Bunke, who completed the course in a leading time of 15:12.

The next competition for Penn College's teams is scheduled for Saturday, September 9, when they will participate in the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen Invitational.
