Penn College's wrestling team, ranked 23rd in Division III, achieved a seventh-place finish in an 18-team competition at the Doug Parker Invitational. The event featured four other nationally-ranked teams.
Isaac Cory, ranked fourth at 184 pounds and seeded first in his category, concluded with a 3-1 record. He forfeited his championship match against NYU's Trent Furman. Noah Hunt, seeded fourth at 141 pounds, also went 3-1, losing only to Xavier Pena of Centenary. Hunt secured third place after defeating Sailen Savur of Wesleyan.
Patrick Snoke achieved a 5-1 record at 141 pounds. Kaden Ware finished with a 3-2 record at 133 pounds, facing losses to two top-ranked wrestlers. TJ Martin reversed an earlier defeat by winning against Springfield's Luke Temple at 149 pounds.
Cavin Napoletano led the Wildcats in scoring at 157 pounds, securing three wins and facing defeats against Peter Kane of Williams College and CJ Shea of Wesleyan. Freshmen Travis Green (165), Cade Schneck (174), and Nicholai Brotzman (285) each ended with a 3-2 record.
In their collegiate debuts, Luke Heimbach and CJ Trimber both went 2-2. Other team members also contributed wins to the overall score.
Coast Guard claimed the team title with 162.5 points, followed by Springfield and Wilkes. Penn College accumulated a total of 81 points for their seventh-place standing.
The team's next challenge is scheduled for December 2nd at the RIT Invitational.
