The University of Pennsylvania's cross country teams have unveiled their 2023 schedule, which includes six invitationals leading up to the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Franklin Park.

"We are looking forward to an exciting 2023 cross country season," stated Steve Dolan, the James P. Tuppeny/Betty J. Costanza Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. "While designing the schedule, we have been intentional in regard to gaining some experience early in the season at Franklin Park and Lehigh University. The goal is always to our best during the championship part of the season, and we will contest the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship on those courses later in the fall."

Associate Head Women's Cross Country Coach Matt Gosselin added, "We have a great schedule that includes highly competitive races at Franklin Park, Lehigh, and Panorama Farms - each of which will host championship races later in the season. This schedule allows us to gain experience on those courses while progressing towards our competitive goals late in the season. The team is excited to get back to campus to get the season underway!"

The Quakers will begin their campaign with the Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem on September 1st, offering a preview of November's NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship. Penn last participated in this race in 2021 when its men's team secured third place.

On September 15th, they will compete at Haverford's Main Line Invitational—a local event where Penn has had notable performances since 2015.

A trip to Boston for Harvard's Coast-To-Coast Invitational on September 29th provides an early look at this year's Ivy Heptagonal Championship course.

The month concludes with participation in Lehigh's Paul Short Invitational on September 30th—an event established in 1975 featuring numerous collegiate and high school teams.

Mid-October sees Penn traveling south for Virginia’s Panorama Farms Invite before concluding their regular-season efforts at Haverford once more on October 26th.

Championship competitions commence October 28th with Ivy Heps followed by another return visit come November tenth back up north again toward Bethlehem as preparations intensify ahead of NCAA Championships scheduled Charlottesville come mid-November eighteenth this year too indeed...
