The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team faced a challenging game against Brown, resulting in a 70-61 defeat at the Pizzitola Sports Center. With two minutes remaining, Penn was only four points behind, but Brown capitalized on key plays to secure their victory.

Brown's advantage grew from 61-57 after Tyler Perkins' foul shot. Kino Lilly Jr.'s floater initiated a seven-point run for the Bears, extending their lead to double digits as the game neared its conclusion.

Despite having previously won six consecutive games at Pizzitola, Penn now holds a 9-11 overall record and is 1-4 in Ivy League play. Meanwhile, Brown improved to 6-14 overall and 2-3 in Ivy competition.

Penn's performance included notable statistics: they committed only six turnovers, tying a program low under head coach Steve Donahue. The Quakers led at halftime in three of their last four games but lost all of them. They also recorded season lows with just three successful three-point shots out of 21 attempts and only four assists on 23 baskets.

Junior Ed Holland III achieved his first collegiate double-double with career highs in points (18) and rebounds (11). Freshman Tyler Perkins scored in double figures for the third consecutive game, matching Holland with 18 points and adding seven rebounds. Junior Nick Spinoso continued his streak of double-digit scoring games with ten points and six rebounds.

For Brown, Nana Owusu-Anane and Kalu Anya both recorded double-doubles. Lilly tied Owusu-Anane with 19 points after going scoreless in the first half. Aaron Cooley contributed with 14 points.

During the game, Penn initially led by one point before Brown launched a nine-point run that extended to 14-2, establishing a significant lead. The Quakers managed to close the gap by halftime but couldn't maintain their momentum as Brown quickly regained control after the break.

Lilly's crucial floating jumper expanded Brown's lead to seven points late in the game. Despite efforts from Penn, including missed opportunities and fouls that favored Brown's possession, they were unable to overcome the deficit.

Next up for Penn is a match against Yale on Saturday night as part of their traditional Ivy weekend series.
