Tyler Mensch Head Men's Soccer Coach | Penn College Wildcats

Penn College men's soccer team faced a narrow defeat against Penn State Abington, losing 1-0 in a United East conference match on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats' record now stands at 1-1-0 in the United East and 6-4-1 overall, while the Nittany Lions improved to 2-0 in the conference and 2-7-2 overall.

The match remained goalless through the first half, with Penn College managing only three shots compared to six from Penn State Abington. The breakthrough came for Abington in the 67th minute when Arsene Bado scored with a header from an Amerr Yagoub corner kick.

In the closing stages of the game, Penn College attempted to find an equalizer but was limited to three shots. Matt Neeson had a notable chance in the 88th minute, but his shot was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

Neeson contributed two of the Wildcats' six shots during the match, with Cooper Smith, Robert Antonini, Logan Stapleton, and Austin Stapleton also recording attempts. Cole Catherman made four saves as goalkeeper for Penn College.

Looking ahead, Penn College will return to UPMC Field on Saturday to celebrate senior day before facing Gallaudet at 3:30 p.m.
