The University of Pennsylvania men's basketball team is set to continue its Ivy League play this weekend, seeking its first conference win of the season. The Quakers will host Cornell on Saturday and then travel to face Harvard on Monday. Both games are scheduled for 2 p.m.
Penn's match against Cornell marks the 241st meeting between the two teams, with Penn holding a lead in the series at 162-78. However, Cornell has won three of the last four encounters, including both games last season. The game will be held at The Palestra in Philadelphia.
On Monday, Penn will face Harvard for the 187th time, with Penn leading the all-time series 138-48. Last season, Harvard swept their meetings with victories both at The Palestra and in Cambridge.
Cornell's head coach Jon Jaques is a former player under Penn's current head coach Steve Donahue. Jaques was part of Donahue's successful 2009-10 Cornell team that reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
After these matches, Penn will return home for four consecutive games starting next Saturday against Columbia.
For fans unable to attend in person, all games can be viewed on ESPN+, a subscription-based service. Additionally, live audio coverage is available through the Quaker Audio Network.
Penn has added several new players this season including transfers Ethan Roberts from Drake, Dylan Williams from Triton College, and Michael Zanoni from Mercer. Roberts leads among Ivy League players with an average of 16.2 points per game this season.
