Penn College's Faith Murray finished second at No. 3 singles on Sunday in the King's College Fall Invitational in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
There was no team competition, and the tournament became single-elimination on Sunday after Saturday's scheduled play was rained out.
In singles, Murray advanced to the final with a 6-3, 6-2 win over FDU-Florham in the quarterfinals and a 6-1, 6-2 win over King's in the semifinals before falling to Misericordia in the final. Also for Penn College, Kayla Weinzierl went 1-1 at No. 4, while Ellen Buckley at No. 1 and Emlyn Kinley at No. 2 both dropped their opening matches.
In doubles for the Wildcats, Buckley/Kinley and Murray/Weinzierl lost in the first round.
The women are next scheduled to compete at Lycoming College at 4 p.m. on Friday. The men's team will participate in the King's College Invitational at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
