A record number of four wrestlers from Penn College have been awarded the National Coaches Wrestling Association (NWCA) Scholar All-America honors, as announced by the organization. This achievement marks the highest number of individual scholar all-American honors for the Wildcats since they had four award winners in the 2020-21 season. The honored athletes are senior Noah Hunt, sophomore TJ Martin, freshman Carter Davis, and sophomore Nick Woodruff.

To qualify for this recognition, a wrestler must maintain at least a 3.2 GPA and either place in the regional tournament or achieve a winning percentage of 66% or greater in a season with at least 15 matches.

Head Coach Dalton Rohrbaugh commented on their success: "Noah, TJ, Carter and Nick all had a great season on the mat and in the classroom. They are always looking to improve and do the right things and it shows in their results. Those four, along with our entire team had a great year both academically and athletically and we will continue to look to grow in both areas."

Noah Hunt from Muncy, Pa., has become a five-time NWCA Scholar All-American, earning this honor every season since joining Penn College. Competing at 141 pounds, he concluded his career with his first appearance at the NCAA Division III Championships as only the second Wildcat to reach this level. An accounting major, Hunt achieved a 19-8 record during his senior year, securing his second consecutive AMCC 141-pound individual title and finishing third at the NCAA Region 2 Championships. He also became Penn College's first four-time region place finisher and surpassed 100 wins with a school-record of 103-49.

TJ Martin from Honesdale, Pa., received his first Scholar All-America honor after placing eighth in the Region 2 149-pound bracket. As an HVAC major, Martin recorded a 24-11 record while capturing his first AMCC individual title. He tied for fourth on the team with 11 pins and also earned two tech falls and three major decisions.

Carter Davis from York, Pa., was recognized for his exceptional freshman performance with Scholar All-America accolades. The HVAC major led the team with a best record of 28-5 including a notable streak of 20 consecutive wins against Division III opponents. Davis maintained an undefeated dual meet record of 8-0 while claiming titles at both Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic and AMCC Championships.

Nick Woodruff from Wyalusing, Pa., ended his sophomore season with sixth place in Region 2 Championships at 197 pounds. A Residential Construction Management major, Woodruff posted a record of 19-8 featuring eight pins alongside five tech falls and one major decision.

NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer stated: "The NWCA is proud to honor these 464 outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence on the mat and in the classroom as well."
