Penn College tennis teams face defeat against King’s College

Penn College's men's and women's tennis teams faced defeats against King's College in nonconference matches on Friday. The men's team lost narrowly with a score of 4-3, while the women's team was defeated 7-0. These results bring the Penn College men's record to 1-5 and the women's to 0-6. Meanwhile, King's College men's team improved to 3-5, and their women's team recorded a win, moving to 1-6.

In the men's competition, both teams won three singles matches each. However, King's secured victory by winning two out of three doubles matches. For Penn College, Logan Ogden at No. 3, Seth Priestman at No. 4, and Matt Williams at No. 6 were successful in their singles matches.

In the women's competition, King's dominated by winning all six singles matches and all three doubles matches. Penn College forfeited one singles match and one doubles match. Notably competitive performances for Penn came from Faith Murry at No. 3 singles with scores of 6-2, 7-5, and from Murry paired with Kayla Weinzierl in No. 2 doubles with a score of 6-4.

Looking ahead, Penn College's women will host Lock Haven on Tuesday at 1 p.m., followed by both teams participating in United East play next Saturday at Penn State Berks.
