Penn College secured a victory against Elmira in nonconference baseball, winning 10-6 after scoring six unanswered runs in the eighth inning. This result improved the Wildcats' record to 6-7, while the Soaring Eagles fell to 5-7.

The Wildcats faced a 6-4 deficit but turned the game around with key plays in the eighth inning. Shawn Townsend initiated the rally with a single, followed by Jaydon Goebel being hit by a pitch and Matt Munoz executing a bunt single to load the bases. Anthony Barbella and Ty Jenkins both walked, bringing in runs. Dallas Griess contributed with an RBI single, Ethan Stahl added another run with a sacrifice fly, and Nathan Gustkey along with Townsend finished off the inning's scoring with RBI singles.

In the ninth inning, Dillon Gallagher ensured Elmira couldn't mount a comeback by retiring three batters consecutively. Gustkey and Townsend were instrumental offensively, each achieving three hits out of five at-bats. Gustkey led his team with two RBIs and scored once; Townsend, Goebel, and Griess each scored twice.

The pitching staff for Penn College was effective, striking out 11 Elmira players while allowing eight hits throughout the game. McGwire Heverly started strong by striking out five over 3.2 innings. Parker White contributed two strikeouts and earned his second win of the season.

Looking ahead, Penn College will return to United East play on Saturday with a doubleheader against Penn State Abington starting at noon.
