State Senator Gene Yaw engaged with the participants of the 2025 Leadership Lycoming program during their "Government Day" event. The program is organized by the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce and aims to develop effective community leaders.

Senator Yaw expressed his appreciation for meeting the class participants, stating, “I enjoyed meeting the current class participants during their State and Local Government Day program. Developing the next generation of leaders is important in any sector, whether that be government, academia, business, healthcare or nonprofits. We are living and working in a time of accelerated change, and the Leadership Lycoming program will help prepare and shape our leaders of tomorrow. It was great sharing my experience in public service and talking about how legislative actions impact our day-to-day lives.”

The Leadership Lycoming initiative seeks to understand community needs while fostering leadership skills among its candidates. These individuals are nominated by their employers based on their leadership potential and commitment to community involvement.
