FOIA Request to Clinton County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Lycoming News have submitted a request for records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law, 65 §66.1 et seq., to the Clinton County Election Department.
The request is specifically for a list of all candidates running in the upcoming election. We've asked for details including each candidate's first, middle, and last name; the office they are running for; the jurisdiction of that office; and their party affiliation.
In addition, we've requested contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
