Counties, municipalities, municipal agencies, pre-qualified land trusts, non-profits, and other eligible organizations are invited to apply for grants from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) starting January 21, 2025. These grants are part of the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2), which aims to support conservation and recreational projects.

Senator Gene Yaw (R-23) emphasized the importance of this opportunity for local communities. "I strongly encourage eligible applicants in the 23rd District to apply for this funding as a way to improve and preserve our local recreational areas and further ensure that future generations have the opportunity to experience and enjoy their appeal," he stated.

The C2P2 program has previously funded initiatives that involve planning, acquiring, and developing parks, recreation facilities, trails, and conserving critical areas and watersheds. It also supports education on conservation topics and fosters partnerships related to conservation, heritage, and recreation.

Applications for these grants will be accepted until April 2, 2025. Online tutorials are available to assist eligible organizations in navigating the application process.

Funding for the DCNR Recreation and Conservation grant program comes from various state and federal sources, including Pennsylvania’s natural gas "Impact Fee."
