State Senator Dave Argall has been reappointed as chairman of the Senate Majority Policy Committee for the 2025-26 legislative session. The appointment was made by Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward. This marks a continuation of Argall's role within the Senate Majority Leadership Team, making him the first senator from Pennsylvania's 29th district to hold a leadership position since the 1860s.
"Senator Argall will be a key member of the Senate Majority Leadership Team for the 2025-26 legislative session," stated Ward. "Having served on seven Senate committees last session, Dave’s experience and knowledge on the issues provide him with a keen understanding on matters important to Pennsylvanians and make him a natural fit to serve as Chairman of the Majority Policy Committee."
Argall expressed his enthusiasm for chairing the committee, saying it allows him to explore various legislative ideas through public hearings and reviews. He highlighted key issues such as housing shortages, blight spread, and crime impact in communities.
Under his previous leadership, the committee held hearings statewide on several issues including COVID-19 lockdown effects, state welfare program inefficiencies, and repeat DUI offenders. Additionally, Argall led ten public roundtables across Pennsylvania focused on school safety measures. These discussions have resulted in significant state investments towards enhancing school security and supporting student mental health.
