The Pottsville Free Public Library is set to receive 30 laptops through the Digital Connectivity Technology Program (DCTP), as announced by Senator Dave Argall and Representative Tim Twardzik. This initiative, led by the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority, aims to provide devices in communities where affordability limits high-speed internet access.
Senator Argall stated, "High-speed internet is an absolute necessity in today’s world. I’m grateful that these devices will support the mission of the Pottsville Free Public Library to make knowledge accessible to everyone."
Representative Twardzik added, "The Pottsville Free Public Library plays a vital role in connecting our community to valuable resources, and this program is another step in making technology accessible to all. These laptops will help expand educational and professional opportunities, ensuring that residents can stay connected in an increasingly digital world."
The DCTP program is supported by $20 million in federal funding and assists community institutions such as libraries, schools, municipalities, workforce training organizations, and other non-profits. Eligible projects focus on providing devices that enhance broadband internet access while promoting digital literacy and skills training.
This award is part of Pennsylvania's broader effort to improve digital access across the Commonwealth, fostering stronger connections within communities.
