Penn College Esports teams reach NACE playoffs for first time

The Penn College Esports program has achieved a milestone in its five-year history, with all five of its teams qualifying for the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) Fall 2024 Varsity Plus season playoffs.

The League of Legends team concluded their season with a 4-2 record, securing the #3 seed. They will face the University of New Haven, whom they defeated in the regular season, on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m.

In Overwatch 2, the team finished with a strong 6-1 record and earned the #2 seed. They have a first-round bye and will compete against either Texas Wesleyan University or Bethany Lutheran College on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 p.m.

The Rocket League team ended their season with a 2-5 record but managed to clinch the final playoff spot as the #6 seed. They are set to play against Texas A&M International University on Monday, Nov. 11 at 7:00 p.m., following a previous loss to them in the regular season.

Valorant secured a #4 seed after finishing their season at 4-3. Their upcoming match is against Atlantic University on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7:00 p.m., having previously won against them during the regular season.

Finally, the Counter Strike team also ended their season with a 4-3 record and claimed the #3 seed. They will begin their playoff journey on Nov. 15 against York University, who bested them in their last encounter.
