State Senator Gene Yaw and State Representative Joe Hamm have announced that Lycoming County will receive $6,750,000 for three projects through the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). This funding aims to boost the local economy by enhancing facilities for workforce training, expanding businesses, and revitalizing properties.

Senator Yaw emphasized the positive economic impact of these awards: “Today’s awards will have a tremendous impact on our local economy by improving facilities used to train a well-qualified workforce, expanding local businesses that bring good paying jobs to our region and revitalizing old properties for new use.”

Representative Hamm highlighted the importance of these projects for the county's future: “Strengthening our workforce, offering more opportunities for our youth and providing more jobs and economic growth for our area are vitally important. These projects will have a significant impact on the future of Lycoming County.”

Jason Fink, President and CEO of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, noted that investments in these projects would lead to job creation: “Investments in these projects will provide them with the additional funding needed to complete work that will pay back dividends to the county and commonwealth through new job creation.” He pointed out that the Lycoming Career and Technical Center would benefit significantly from this funding due to increased demand for career and technical education.

Ara Kervandjian of FamVest Partners expressed gratitude for an additional $1 million in RACP funding: “This additional investment will allow us to continue our negotiations with national tenants to bring them to Muncy Township as part of a revitalized mixed-use community.”

The RACP is managed by the Office of the Budget and supports regional economic improvement projects. These projects must demonstrate regional or multi-jurisdictional impacts and contribute significantly to employment or economic activity.
