Penn College tennis teams face tough start against Penn State Harrisburg

Penn College's men's and women's tennis teams faced challenging starts to their United East Conference seasons, each suffering 9-0 defeats against Penn State Harrisburg on Friday. The matches took place in Middletown, Pennsylvania.

Following the results, Penn College's men's team now holds a 0-1 record in the United East Conference and is 0-5 overall. Meanwhile, the women's team also stands at 0-1 in conference play with an overall record of 2-5. In contrast, Penn State Harrisburg's men's team has achieved a 2-0 record in the conference and a 7-5 record overall. Their women's team mirrors this success with a similar 2-0 conference standing and an overall score of 7-6.

During the matches, Harrisburg dominated by winning all six singles matches as well as all three doubles encounters. Notably for Penn College, Kyle Shuler put up a strong fight in his match at No. 1 singles but ultimately fell short with scores of 6-2 and 6-4.

Looking ahead, Penn College will aim to bounce back when they host St. Mary's (Md.) College for another United East matchup scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m.
