Penn College women's volleyball team faced a setback on Monday night, falling to Penn State Hazleton in a 3-1 match. The Wildcats now hold a record of 4-9 as they prepare for their United East opener.
The match saw the Wildcats level the score after two sets by winning the second set 25-17. However, Penn State Hazleton secured victory by taking the first (25-20), third (25-17), and fourth sets (25-18).
Coryn Oswald was a standout performer for the Wildcats, leading with 14 points from 14 kills. Lauren Hergert, Marianna Dariychuk, and Hailey DeBrody also contributed significantly with double-digit points. Hergert played a crucial role in defense with 15 digs and a solo block.
Looking ahead, Penn College will begin their United East campaign on Wednesday, October 8, hosting Penn State Berks at 7 p.m.
