Penn College tennis teams face defeat in spring openers against King's College

Penn College's spring tennis season began with both the men's and women's teams facing defeats against King's College on Saturday. The women's team lost 7-2, while the men's team was defeated 8-1. Following these matches, the Penn College women hold a record of 2-2 overall, having previously gone 2-1 in the fall. The men's team remains winless at 0-3 after going 0-2 in the fall. King's College's men's team improved to 1-6, and their women's team is now 1-5.

In terms of match specifics, Penn College's women secured one victory out of six singles matches and one out of three doubles matches. The Wildcat men managed to win one singles match.

Lauren Peck achieved a win for the women's team at No. 2 singles with scores of 6-4, 6-2. In doubles, Faith Murray and Georgia Macensky won at No. 2 with an 8-7 scoreline. For the men's side, Logan Ogden claimed victory at No. 4 singles with scores of 6-4, 6-2.

Looking ahead, the Penn College women are set to host Lock Haven University at home on Sunday, March 24th at 9 a.m., while the men will travel to face Penn State Harrisburg for their United East opener on April 3rd at 3 p.m.
