The Ivy League has announced its All-Ivy teams and postseason honors for the 2023-24 men's basketball season. University of Pennsylvania senior guard Clark Slajchert was voted second-team All-Ivy by the conference coaches.
Slajchert had an impressive season, finishing second among Ivy League players in scoring average with 18.0 points per game. He also led his team in this category. In three-point field goals per game, he ranked second among Ancient Eight players with 2.6, and he was sixth in three-point field goal percentage at .422. Despite missing eight games due to an injury sustained during Penn's game against Houston on December 30, Slajchert still managed to contribute significantly to his team. He was second on the team in assists with 63, made 37 treys, and tied for second with 26 steals.
During his collegiate career, Slajchert reached the milestone of 1,000 points in Penn's penultimate game against Columbia. He concluded his career with a total of 1,030 points, placing him 42nd on the program's all-time scoring list. He achieved the 1,000-point mark in his 73rd collegiate game, tying for the 18th fastest in program history alongside Mike Jordan and Ugonna Onyewke.
Princeton sophomore Caden Pierce received the title of Ivy League Player of the Year. Harvard freshman guard Malik Mack was unanimously selected as Rookie of the Year, while Yale junior guard Bez Mbeng earned Defensive Player of the Year honors for a second consecutive season. Princeton head coach Mitch Henderson was named Ivy League Coach of the Year by his peers.
In addition to being named second-team All-Ivy, Slajchert also received Academic All-Ivy recognition.
Penn's season concluded with their recent match against Princeton, marking the 250th meeting between these two teams.
