Penn College faced a narrow defeat against Juniata in a baseball game held on Thursday evening in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats were defeated 6-5, bringing their season record to 4-5, while the Eagles improved to 5-3.

The decisive moment came in the bottom of the ninth inning when Juniata managed to load the bases with two outs. Jordan Chui then hit an RBI single, allowing Sebastian Tringali to score the winning run.

Penn College's significant scoring happened during the eighth inning when they scored all five of their runs. Ty Jenkins initiated the inning with a walk and was replaced by David Wagner at first base. Jaiden Augustine singled, and Dallas Griess reached on a fielder's choice, positioning runners on the corners. Quinn Hanafin hit a home run to left field, driving in three runs. Following this, Shane Townsend singled and Adam Aldenderfer hit a triple to right field, narrowing the score to 5-4. Jaydon Gobel tied the game by bringing in Aldenderfer with another single.

Despite having another opportunity at bat in the ninth inning, Penn College could not capitalize after Augustine drew a one-out walk.

In terms of individual performances, seven Wildcats achieved hits during the game. Hanafin ended his performance going 1-for-5 with three RBIs and one run scored. For Juniata, Zach Johnson led offensively by going 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Looking ahead, Penn College is set to begin United East action with a three-game series against Lancaster Bible starting Friday.
