Senator Gene Yaw recently visited the Tyoga Container facility in Tioga County to discuss its $30 million expansion. The company, known for manufacturing corrugated boxes, received $1.5 million from the state's 2023-24 budget for this project.

"The team from Tyoga Container has a proven track record in the manufacturing industry," said Yaw. "This multi-generational company brings good paying jobs to Tioga County and creates substantial economic benefits for our region. I was proud to have advocated for this funding and I'm looking forward to their continued progress."

Earlier this year, Tyoga Container unveiled its newly redesigned facility, marking its largest expansion yet. This renovation took two years and added significant space, totaling nearly 264,000 square feet that now includes corporate offices, customer service representatives, a design lab, employee breakrooms, and advanced production lines.

"Through the support of local and state officials including Sen. Gene Yaw, State Rep. Clint Owlett and former Tioga County Commissioner Erick Coolidge, we redesigned our entire facility for optimal throughput while installing a total of five new corrugated converting lines," stated Chris Morral, executive vice president of Tyoga Container. "With the completion of this project we now have nearly 180 employees and are in the upper echelon of sheet plants throughout the country in terms of overall capacity and capabilities."

Tyoga Container Inc., founded in 1970 as a family business, continues to expand its operations with this being its thirteenth project since inception. The company serves over 3,000 customers nationwide with various packaging solutions.
