Penn College golfers achieved a score of 322, securing second place among seven teams at the Penn State Abington Open on Monday in Warminster, Pennsylvania.
In individual performances, Will Orwig led the Wildcat team with a 7-over-par 78 on the par 72, 6,672-yard Five Ponds Golf Course. He finished fourth out of 36 participants. Gavin Baer followed closely in fifth place with a score of 79. Peyton Mussina tied for ninth place with an 81, while Gunner Redmond tied for 17th with an 84.
The competition saw Penn State Harrisburg claim team honors with a score of 314. Penn College was followed by Delaware Valley University and Rosemont College, both scoring 333. Penn State Abington scored 347, Yeshiva University recorded a score of 354, and Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham finished with a score of 360. Josh Africa from Penn State Harrisburg earned medalist honors with his score of 73.
Penn College is set to compete next in the Penn State Altoona Spring Invitational on Thursday at Sinking Valley Country Club in Altoona.
