Penn College faced a setback in their nonconference men's lacrosse game against Shenandoah, losing 14-10 on Saturday. The Wildcats' record now stands at 2-4, while the Hornets improved to 4-2.

Shenandoah started strong with a three-goal lead before AJ Dotson scored for the Wildcats midway through the first quarter. Harrison Schlachta followed with another goal three minutes later, and Aidan McFalls added one more just before the end of the first quarter. By then, Shenandoah was leading 8-3.

In the second quarter, Sam Hills scored for Penn College with 2:34 left before halftime. The Wildcats made progress in the third quarter with goals from Hills, Schlachta, Brendan Kuczma, and Devin Page, narrowing Shenandoah's lead to 11-8.

Will Ehret kept up the momentum for Penn College with an early fourth-quarter goal. However, Shenandoah responded with three consecutive goals to extend their lead to 14-9. Jake Small scored Penn College's final goal of the match.

Hills and Schlachta each scored two goals for Penn College. Schlachta also contributed an assist while Dotson led his team with four points from one goal and three assists. Mason Nester was notable defensively with two caused turnovers and three ground balls. Dax Shallis made 18 saves after entering late in the first quarter.

Logan Clingerman was instrumental for Shenandoah, scoring seven goals and providing an assist.

Next up for Penn College is a visit to Immaculata next Saturday at 3 p.m.
