She said, "This grant funding will provide vital support to the heroic first responders in our community. Our dedicated firefighters and EMS personnel work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. They deserve the best equipment and training available."
Rep. Barton, who has personally met with many EMTs, paramedics, and firefighters, acknowledged the need for assistance in order for them to continue their brave service. The grants were awarded through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, which was established by the General Assembly. The funds can be utilized for various purposes, including upgrading facilities, purchasing new equipment, reducing debt, training members, and recruiting and retaining first responders.
In light of this funding, Rep. Twardzik also highlighted the need for new volunteers in the local emergency teams. He urged individuals to reach out to their local firehouses or the district office to learn more about how they can contribute.
