PINE GROVE – Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) recently hosted a press conference and tour at Providence Place Senior Living in Pine Grove to introduce three bipartisan pieces of legislation aimed at supporting long-term care centers. The event was featured on the February edition of Argall TV Report, a local TV program.

Argall emphasized the importance of updating training procedures and breaking down employment barriers to address the growing demand for long-term care professionals. "Too many of our families have faced the difficult decision of moving a beloved parent or grandparent into a long-term care center," Argall said. "Both of my parents required this kind of help toward the end of their lives, and I cannot be more grateful to the professionals who made sure that they were cared for and respected."

The number of Pennsylvanians aged 65 and older is expected to double by 2040, yet there has been a 14% decrease in long-term care professionals from 2019 to 2022. Argall highlighted the urgency of the legislation, stating, "In a time of increased partisan gridlock in Washington D.C. and Harrisburg, the strong bipartisan support these bills have already received gives me hope that we can get them to the Governor's desk – the sooner, the better."

Joining Argall at the press conference were Rep. Jamie Barton (R-124), Rep. Tim Twardzik (R-125), and David Leader, the President and CEO of Providence Place Senior Living. Leader, the son of former Pennsylvania Governor George Leader, expressed his support for the legislation.

The Argall Report featuring the press conference and tour at Providence Place Senior Living will be aired on local television. Viewers can also access the program online at https://www.senatorargall.com/argallreport/.
