Joseph C. Ashkar Elementary School issued the following announcement on May 7.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the state is entering into the “Yellow Phase”, we are working to coordinate efforts to return belongings to your child(ren) that were left at school on March 13th and to collect ALL school books that need to be returned. Teachers will be bagging up student items next week. If you have something you are missing, please contact your teacher to describe specific items - coats etc. We will invite you in to pick up items beginning next Thursday, May 14th. Pick up will happen in front of the school and by last name according to the following schedule:
Thursday - May 14th
Last name A and B ~ between 8:30 - 10:00
Last name C, D, E, F ~ between 10:00 - 11:30
Last name G and H ~ between 12:30 - 2:00
Last name I, J, K, L ~ between 2:00 - 3:30

Last name T, U, V, W, X, Y ~ between 2:00 - 3:30
You will be directed to park along the curb and people will be collecting and inventorying all school books and supplies that you will be returning.
Please wear a mask as we will need to communicate with you to identify your child(ren) and to collect all school books and supplies that you are returning.
We will not be collecting chrome books.
Students will keep their chrome books and chargers over the summer.
If you cannot pick up your child’s belongings during your scheduled window, please come at another time. The times have been divided to accommodate the numbers during each pick up window. We will do our best to move you through the line quickly.
We ask if possible that you limit children coming with you for pick up. We understand that this may not be possible for some.
We will ask for you to stay in your car while we call inside for your child’s belongings and inventory returned items.
Thank you for your help in this matter. Our teachers and staff greatly miss seeing all those little smiling faces. Perhaps having their school items and supplies back at home will help during this difficult time. Thank you in advance for your patience during this process.
