Penn College wins back-to-back games against Wilson in United East baseball

Penn College achieved a double victory over Wilson in the United East baseball games on Saturday afternoon in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats secured an 8-1 win in the first game, followed by a narrow 6-5 triumph in the second. Penn College now holds a 7-1 record in conference play and 13-10 overall, while Wilson's record slips to 3-4 in the conference and 5-17 overall.

In the first game, Penn College took an early lead by scoring the first five runs. Brandon Shane opened the scoring with an RBI double bringing in Jaydon Goebel, followed by John Croasdale's RBI single that scored Matt Munoz. Dallas Griess extended the lead with his second home run of the season in the third inning. The Wildcats added two more runs in the sixth and three in the eighth inning to seal the win.

Shawn Townsend was key to the offense, finishing with three hits, including a double, while Griess, Munoz, Shane, and Goebel each contributed two hits. Griffin Vollman pitched six effective innings to earn the win, striking out five and allowing only three hits.

In the second game, Wilson initially took the lead with two runs in the third inning. However, the Wildcats responded strongly in the fifth inning with four runs. Shane's double scored Munoz and Goebel, followed by Jaiden Augustine's RBI single that brought Shane home. Griess drove in Augustine with a single. Despite Wilson tying the game at 4-4 in the eighth, Croasdale's single in the ninth brought two more runs, securing the victory.

Dillon Gallagher completed the game to claim the win on the mound. Griess, Munoz, and Croasdale again contributed with two hits each, while Goebel and Munoz crossed home plate twice.

Penn College is set to travel to Keystone for a midweek United East series this coming Tuesday, beginning play at 12 p.m.
